The simplest song you've ever heard. The one with lyrics and a tune that gets you going. The ones that make you feel lighthearted, happy, quick, and easy. That cute song that you might not know the words to, but you get. It doesn't matter now short it is, as long as it is easy, happy, positive, and cute. That's why folk songs can be the best! Some can be the best thing. No complex concept, just really easy. Also oldies, broadway jingles, and disney. Lets go one by one:
The Oldies:These are great. Usually, they are cute and silly, but quite adorable. I'm not just talking 50's stuff. I'm talking about the 40's, 30's, 20's even. When music really started popping. When the sax was it! When originality was all there all the way.
Next, Broadway:That pretty much mixes in with The Oldies. It is quite the same because it seemed everybody was very showy and lively all together.
Finally, Disney: Both the original characters such as Mickey, to the crazy motion pictures of RobinHood and others like it. That movie in particular has a lot of wonderful little tunes. They're not abstract, they're not intense, they're not emotionally radical. Nothing really depends on them story wise. And sometimes that's okay. The songs just keep you feeling refreshed and relaxed. I think all songs that we enjoy should do that for us.
I see the emo image that is today, and I'm quite depressed watching it. No one needs that much sadness in there life. Lets listen to a more oblifting sound, and put life into our day with a sweet little jingle to whistle to. That's why I call these hymes, because when I think of a hyme, I think of a pretty little tune in my head that makes me happy. How about you?

Steve Miller Band sets me free
The beauty of sound is that it can make one think of new things. It can make you feel different in your day, and give the room an atmosphere. One of the best atmospheres is the Cafe Paradiso vibe that I get when I listen to soft classic rock and good style music from the decades before. Yeahhh! Steve Miller Band is a good example of that excellence. "The Joker", probably their best known song and album, is the song that sets me free. The song that brings life into positive and optimistic perspective, even if I felt that way to begin with. No matter what.

My Universe
In the beginning there was a giant opal floating in space. It almost danced in still life because around it were silent stars, not moving, not shining, not making a sound. But that all began to change when a shooting star once hit a side of it and a chip came off which became Hemachandra, the Moon. She was a fragile flower blowing in the wind. One day, another star swooped by and took off one of her fingers. This became Aditya, the sun. They married, and their children were: Brimwald (sea way), Johanna(daughter of god) , the god Akash (sky), and the goddess Lavanya (grace). Akash was the only son in the family, and gave his sisters beautiful children. But he married Johanna. Brimwald was given the ocean and all its wonders. Johanna was given the plants, flowers, and rich fruits of the earth. But Lavanya was given only one child, Drake. Lavanya was jealous of her sisters, so she went to Hemachandra and Aditya.
“Mother, Father, I have been given only one child. How can I ever be happy?”
Her parents said, “Your son is a mighty dragon. He is part of the sky. Your sisters’ children are merely of the earth and the water. How could you not be happy?”
Lavanya grew arrogant and believed her son was better than Akash, and Drake could take his place. A battle of father and son was held, but mighty Akash cast his son deep in the earth to the underworld. Lavanya, in her grief, killed Akash and herself. The only God’s left in heaven were now dead.
Drake found many creatures in the underworld. Hobbit-like men who were mining into the rock, fairies with black dripping wings like ink, swooping up and down as if they were saying something. Beautiful women, gnomes, creatures of all kinds; they were all living in this godforsaken place. Suddenly, a nymph rose from the wet black rocky floor. Her name was Akuji (dead and awake). Together they had many children. One of their children was Nyx, goddess of the underworld. Drake once gave Nyx a sack filled with seeds.
“Each seed,” he said, “you must plant in the realms of my aunts. Only then can their children start to grow.”
Nyx could only leave the underworld at night, so she crept out of a hole in the ground wearing a velvety purple cloak to protect her pale skin from the moon’s harsh rays.
In the watery realm of Brimwald, hardly any sound was whispered. But once, as Nyx threw a seed into the ocean, it caused a whirlpool and out sprung Calypso, goddess of the oceans. All sorts of magical creatures were born as well. One of them was the merman Aquarius. Calypso married him, and together they ruled over the oceans and created many fascinating creatures.
The land of green was also quiet, but when Nyx planted a seed in the giant garden that spread for miles, out sprung Bardo, god of the earth. Thousands of forest fairies, nymphs, elves, and magical creatures were born, too. Bardo married Illusen, a forest nymph, and had many children as well. Amongst these children is the race of man. Bardo gave man food, and a place to put his feet. Calypso gave man water, and the ability to fish. Nyx took care of the souls after they passed. And the mystic wind gave them life.

My Christmas Eve Salute!
Here I sit in the middle of the night thinking about what to write. Since it's Christmas eve, I think I'll talk about the wonder of the holidays.
My parents met 21 years ago this night, and have been married for 16 years, so far. For us, tonight is the night where you can't keep your kids at bay. For them, it is the eve of their Christmas miracle!
What is a Christmas miracle? And why are miracles communly connected with a season like Christmas? Any Christian would tell you it's the birth of Christ that we must celebrate. All children would say "A fat man in a flying sleigh with 8 tiny reighndear + Rudolph comes and leaves you presents and eats the milk and cookies you leave out for him". Perhaps it is both. We know it is both in our hearts. But behind both these well known holiday miracles, the real truth is, we are living on this great earth with our happy family and this is a chance to celebrate one another. I think that's all something we can share on Christmas day in the morning.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must wait by the fire place for Santa Claus! He always comes at 12:21pm central time ;))

Time and time again: written June 6th, 2008
In the 2006 motion picture, A Good Year, Uncle Henry says to his nephew the following: "Maxamillion, ask me 'What is the most important thing in comedy?'"
And the nephew replies... "What IS the most imporant thing in com..."
"...Timing!" and the nephew laughs
It is true, timing is key. But time has other weird effects on us all. The time comes when the baby needs to be born. The time comes when one must die. The time comes when you're jumping into the pool that you must get wet. Time does it's duty whether you like it or not. And we all are obliged to live with it.
But time can also scare us. That happens to me on numerous events. One of those is becoming a High Schooler. We all have to do it at some point, and it doesn't matter what our wishes may be. How many of you have heard the phrase "When the time comes"? Probably more than once. More than likely, by your parents. They say this because they know we naive teenagers can't do anything about it, even if we pray to God that we could. It's like gravity. You don't have to believe in it, but it's going to have an impact on you.
Now before you take this paper and throw it away, read this. Don't Fret! Time is on your side. It wants to help you make your life the best and wants you to learn. Know that you ARE in charge of your life, and you have to work with time and make it your ally in order to prosper. I think, time is an illusion, but it's still there. It's always going to be there, and we have to make that okay. So before you go and try to grow up ultra fast, look around you and realize "This is the only time I can be utterly care free." Might as well enjoy it, right?

First blog entry. Welcome!
I'm not entirely sure what to write about, so I think I'll start off by saying that I love to write.
I'm a writer. I write stories, poems, articles, and songs. Mostly, that's what this is going to be used for. You will here all kinds of wonderful things about stuff that you wouldn't always think of during the day.
Hope you enjoy what I put on here from Marina's Cafe of writing! <3
